Ameen Mian Qaudri is the present caretaker (Sajjada
Nasheen) of the Khankah-e-Marehra Sharif[clarification needed] of the Barkatiya
Silsila. Quadri is the son of the famous Sufi Ahsanululema of Marehra in
western Uttar Pradesh, India. Quadri is a professor in the Urdu department of
Aligarh Muslim University. He has been ranked 44th in the list of 500 most
Influential Muslims of the world by the Amman, Jordan-based Royal Islamic
Strategic Studies Centre in collaboration with the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal
Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at the Georgetown University,
Washington DC.[1]
He is Patron in Chief of MSO of India, a students organization
of Muslim Students & Youths of India.MSO of India has More than Ten Lac
[10,00,000] active members.
Roots
The propounder of traditional Islam in India, Imam
Ahmed Raza Khan, has his roots in Khankah-e-Marehra Sharif of Etah district,
Uttar Pradesh, India. Marehra has been important to millions of Sunni Muslims
around the world from the time of Mughal emperor Jehangir. This Khankah has
produced many Sufi personalities.
The English-language daily, Hindustan Times, Uttar
Pradesh Edition on 6 August'06 in its Special article about Indian Muslims,
described Syed Ameen Mian Qaudri as the main leader of Ahle Sunnah. His silsila
is known as Barkatiya Silsila which has lineage from Qadri silasila of Baghdad.
It is said that his silsila has following of around two million people in India
and abroad. He has presided many large gatherings in India and abroad.
He has worked for the educational uplift of the
Muslims of India, and started a chain of educational institutions in India with
the prefix Al-Barkaat.[3]

Disciples of His Khankah-e-Barkatiya
Ahmad Raza’s discipleship to Sayyid Shah Al-e Rasul,
a Sayyid and Pir of the Barkatiyya family based in a small town of Marahra near
Aligarh, was of great importance to his life.
